Transforming the House to Christmas

Lillian decorating her little tree. It took a few attempts before she began to understand that you can't put all the ornaments on the same 3 branches and expect the tree to not fall down.
Lillian was fascinated by the tree this year. She spent much of the morning watching the tree. Every time she walked by she would sigh and say... Christmas (in a breathless whisper)
Madison's caroling animal collection has taken over the house. Lillian decided this year to line the stairs with the animals and then to play the songs as she climbs up and down the stairs.

This one is her favorite at the moment. The snowman sings "Jingle Bells" and the dog wags its tail. Sometimes she plays this one twice.
The kids tree in the family room was ready with lights and garland for when Madison came home after school. I never decorate the girls tree and always enjoy sitting back and watching them.
Proud of their accomplishment.... only took an hour this year to decorate their tree.

My s'more collection is too large (and way too heavy) to include on the family tree. This year I decided to display my little buddies in a special place all of their own.
 A marshmallow nativity.... too sweet!
 Our family tree and stockings.
Madison's first Christmas tree which she has lovely given to Lillian to decorate.

It has become the Sparkman tradition to put up our Christmas decorations on December 1st. No longer crammed into the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, this allows us to calmly prepare for the Christmas season.
Today could not have been more perfect... 30F, light snow flurries and the smell of cinnamon pine cones and another great day of memories.
