Christmas Cookies

Sunday afternoon was cold and snowy, the perfect day to stay inside and bake Christmas cookies.
Lillian loved using her own rolling pin to roll out her dough
Lillian and I rolled out the dough while Madison was working on the homemade icing.

Sparkle Sisters Bakery's first batch of sugar cookies. They loved using the cookie cutters. It only took us 4 hours to make 36 cookies.
Miss Larissa was visiting from Florida and was a great help with the icing.
Lillian was every one's little helper.
Getting ready to ice the cooled cookies.
How many tastes will Lillian have?
Too many to keep track of :)
The icing explosion was one of many humorous moments during our baking. As shown in the picture, Lillian has her icing bag upside down. Icing is squirting out of the top of the bag (where it is supposed to) until the bag finally pops and the rest of the icing plops on to the cookie.
 Time to add the sprinkles.
Lillian decided to upgrade directly to the icing bowl.

The green sprinkles proved to be quite the challenge. I guess you can never have too many sprinkles on a cookie.

Are these girls sisters, or what? Facial expressions only a mom can love.
 Adding more sprinkles

Mommy's little cookie monsters (check out the littlest Trekkie....)
 Cookies, please!
Selecting a cookie to eat proved to be almost as time consuming as baking and decorating.
Big Sister Madison knows that Lillian is up to something.
A knowing smile from Madi.... yes Lillian licked the icing off the cookie and tried to put it back on the foil.
Lillian preferred licking the sprinkles off the foil to eating her cookie.
Happy baking!
