Last Thursday I had the awesome opportunity to help chaperone Lillian's field trip to the local apple orchard and pumpkin patch.
Her entire preschool went on the field trip and the kids had a blast.
The kids unloaded from the buses and enjoyed a quick breakfast before loading the hayride out to the pumpkin patch. There they enjoyed picking their very own pumpkin that they would take home.
After riding back to the main area, the kids unloaded from the hayride, carefully secured safe resting places for their pumpkins and then raced off to see the farm equipment ( truly the highlit of the trip for all the kids).
Due to long lines, Lillian was only able to see the red tractor at first.
From the farm equipment it was snack time at the barn where the kids enjoyed sugar cookies and apple cider before their final station where they would learn about apples.
Unfortunately due to time, our group did not get to go in the barn to learn how cider was made but the kids did not seem to mind.
In an attempt to convince Lillian that it would be much better (and way easier for mama) that she not ride the bus back to school, I promised a second visit to the farm equipment. (every good mama uses bribery some times)
Farmer Ken was very gracious to explain and show Lillian all of the equipment (some even two times)
Then it was time to go home. But the fun was not over.
Upon arriving home, Lillian informed me that her pumpkin needed a bath and thus the afternoon entertainment began.
She spent over an hour cleaning and drying her beautiful pumpkin.
It was a great afternoon. I am so blessed to be able o stay home with my kids and to share these memories with them.
