Omi's 88

Last Sunday was a double celebration for our family... Easter and Omi's 88th birthday.

Our fun day ended with Omi's pound cake and snuggles.

We are blessed to have Omi live around to corner from us and to see her almost every day.

We love you Omi!

Lillian's 6!

Last Friday Lilian turned 6 years old.
As is our family tradition, our first stop was to the pediatrician to for a well check and to "officially" turn a year older.  Lillian is 45 inches tall and weighs 41 lbs. She is in the 25th percentile for her height and weight and very healthy. Her tummy issues seem to be under control and she is growing strong!

Then we headed home for the festivities.

Lillian decided to celebrate with her dear friend (and neighbor).

Our first stop was to Jump N Play.
The girls jumped and slid down the slides for over an hour. We had the whole place to ourselves.

Then it was off to Chuck E Cheese for dinner and games.

Both girls loved playing the games and earning tickets.

 A little help from Mama
Watch out Indy, these girls are crazy drivers :)

A quick hug from Chuck E Cheese before heading home for cake and a sleepover.
As requested by the birthday girl, homemade apple cake and Mama's cream cheese frosting
Wishing for many more years and memories with our Lilli-bug
Happy 6th Birthday Lillian

We love you!

Fire Station

Cooper is very interested in Fire Stations and Fire Trucks at the moment.

We drive by the Fire Station on the way to church, run errands and any time we are going somewhere (its on the main road). And every time we drive by Cooper asks if we can go inside.

Papa to the rescue.... he took the Sparkles to the Fire Station to visit Fireman Joe and to see the trucks and equipment.

Here is Fire Dog Cooper getting ready. He made his hat at Preschool during Fire safety week. He wears it a lot

 Driving the rescue truck
 Climbing in the ladder truck
 Fire Station Sparkles
(I love Cooper's smile in this picture- it truly captures his love for Fire Trucks)
Driving the engine with his Lolli

 Up top with Fireman Joe
 Picking out his gear
Cooper is very goal oriented... he wanted to be a lieutenant :)
 With "Di"
 Checking on his crew
 Sliding down the pole
Thanks Fireman Joe for the tour. The Sparkles LOVED visiting the fire station.

Omi Adventures

Life with Omi is always exciting.

First a trip to Lowes to buy a new lamp... and to ride the lawn mowers
His favorite is the green one
 The off to Walmart
This time Cooper helped Omi drive her electric wheel chair
He especially loved going in reverse- because it makes a beeping sound
Just a quick break in the bunny bin :)
I wonder where they will go next.

Bake Sale

Preparations are in full swing for our mission trip to the Dominican Republic.

As a fundraiser, the team hosted a garage sale. All proceeds from the sale went toward the Team total for funding the trip.

The girls (with the help of Nana) decided to have a bake sale booth at the garage sale as their contribution.

The baked 3 kinds of cookies- Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Raisen, and Snicker Doodle
Brownies
and sorted and bagged donated Fannie May Chocolate

The Sparkles were in charge of selecting what they wanted to bake, shopping for their ingredients, mixing and making the dough, and bagging the cooled cookies.

Getting started bright and early- no time to change out of their jammies
Mixing and measuring their ingredients- Happy and willing to help

While waiting for the cookies to bake the kids decorated signs for their booth.
Ready to sell their yummies :)
The kids helped raise $75.00 for our trip. Well done Sparkles!

Basketball

During March Madness (can you see I am a bit behind) Madison had the opportunity to play in her classes tournament.

She did awesome and found something else she really enjoys.

Here are a few highlights of her basketball debut

Celebrating with her "coach" and favorite math teacher Ms. Taylor
Nothing beats having Papa their to cheer her on.
