Celebrating 1 Year Together!
Who would believe that a year ago when we stood before God and our families that we would be an ocean away from HOME!
As we reflect over the last year we are reminded of ALL of the memories that have been created over the last 365 days. We are so very blessed.
We celebrated our anniversary last night (the day our anniversary would have been if there was not a leap year!) with dinner and a concert.
Rob surprised me with reservations at a local restaurant called Bel and the Dragon. (The reservations were not necessary since when we arrived, the place was empty except the bartender and a waiter. But it was certainly humorous to stand at the hostess stand in a clearly empty restaurant and give them our name for our reservation).
Over wine and a fried goat cheese and pear appetizer, we reminisced over our memories of the last year and our hopes for year to come.
Dinner was roasted lamb and potatoes for Rob and pasta and roasted veggies for me.
For dessert, we shared sticky toffee pudding (a pudding is any dessert, and in this case a divine piece of cake).
After dinner we drove (yes on the opposite side of the road down narrow streets) to a night of opera performed by the Godalming Chorale Society. While neither of us are opera lovers (neither of us had been heard an opera before) it was nice to sit in the balcony of a lovely building (the Charter House) and listen to music together.
(Charter House is the school where the band Genesis was formed!)
Here’s to another memorable year together!
